A bit of family history
The Woman Who Started It All
I am always so proud to be able to say that this old-world craft became a fixture in my family due to my grandmother Beatrice. Bea was born in Sicily and came to the United States as a young girl. During her years as a mother in California, she took a class to learn how to make stained glass. Though this may have originally been a passing curiosity, and an urge to learn a new hobby for her, she was able to take the skills she learned and pass these onto her son, and my mother, who made it a way of life and were, in turn, able to teach me, as I have taught my own son, the fourth generation to learn this skill in my family.
Generations of Artists
My parents have always been highly creative and driven artists. They have both designed, and produced their own unique glass products, from framed original photography to beautifully crafted stained-glass items, like decorative mirrors, lampshades, jewelry boxes and windows. Throughout their lives, they have learned a plethora of other artistic mediums as well, such as wood sculpture, furniture making, wood carving and burning, and copper wall art, lamps and custom-made functional copper artwork.
